A soothing pink salt trick recipe for neuropathy made with Himalayan pink salt, magnesium flakes, lavender oil, ginger, turmeric, coconut oil, and warm water for a mineral-rich bath or topical paste.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 1 bath treatment 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Himalayan pink salt
  • 1 cup magnesium flakes or Epsom salt
  • 1520 drops lavender essential oil
  • 2 tablespoons dried ginger powder
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
  • 1 gallon warm filtered water

Instructions

  1. Measure the Himalayan pink salt into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the magnesium flakes or Epsom salt.
  3. Pour the coconut oil into the salt mixture.
  4. Mix thoroughly until the oil is evenly distributed.
  5. Sprinkle the dried ginger powder over the mixture.
  6. Stir gently to prevent clumping.
  7. Add the turmeric powder and mix slowly.
  8. Add the cayenne pepper if using and if your skin can tolerate it.
  9. Drip the lavender essential oil onto the mixture while stirring continuously.
  10. Mix for 2-3 minutes with a wooden spoon or gloved hands until fully blended.
  11. Fill a bathtub or soaking basin with 1 gallon of warm filtered water at about 105-110°F.
  12. Pour the prepared mixture into the warm water.
  13. Stir well to dissolve the salt crystals and distribute the ingredients evenly.
  14. Soak the affected areas for 15-20 minutes.
  15. Pat the skin dry gently after soaking.
  16. Apply moisturizing oil or lotion to help prevent dryness.
  17. For a topical paste, combine 3 tablespoons of the dry mixture with 2 tablespoons coconut oil.
  18. Apply the paste directly to affected areas.
  19. Rub gently in circular motions for 3-5 minutes.
  20. Leave the paste on for 10-15 minutes.
  21. Rinse with warm water.
  22. Repeat the topical application 2-3 times daily if tolerated.

Notes

Use food-grade Himalayan pink salt rather than table salt. Test on a small skin area first, especially if using cayenne pepper or essential oils. Keep water warm but not too hot, and stop use if irritation occurs.
