- 4 medium ripe mangoes, about 3 cups puree
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup filtered water
Instructions
- Wash the ripe mangoes thoroughly under cool running water.
- Cut each mango along the flat sides to separate the pit, then scoop the flesh into a blender.
- Blend the mango flesh for 60 to 90 seconds until completely smooth.
- Strain the mango puree through a fine-mesh strainer into a large mixing bowl.
- Measure approximately three cups of mango puree.
- Combine the granulated sugar and filtered water in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir constantly for three to four minutes until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Remove the simple syrup from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
- Pour the cooled simple syrup into the mango puree and mix until completely combined.
- Add the fresh lemon juice and stir well.
- Pour the prepared mixture into a Ninja Creami-compatible freezer container, filling only to the recommended maximum line.
- Place the container upright and level in the freezer.
- Freeze for a minimum of 24 hours until completely solid.
- Remove the frozen container from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for three to five minutes.
- Insert the container into the Ninja Creami machine according to the manufacturer instructions.
- Select the sorbet setting and process until smooth and creamy.
- Serve immediately in bowls or cups.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves or thin mango slices, if desired.
Notes
Choose ripe, fragrant mangoes for the brightest tropical flavor. Strain the puree before freezing for a silky-smooth sorbet texture, and freeze the mixture for at least 24 hours before processing.
