Ingredients
- 1 loaf garlic bread, pre-made or homemade
- 1 pound large shrimp, deveined and chopped
- 8 ounces lump or backfin crab meat, drained
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped, optional
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
- Chop the shrimp into bite-sized pieces.
- Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels.
- Drain the crab meat thoroughly and remove any shell pieces.
- Mince the garlic cloves finely.
- Squeeze the fresh lemon juice into a small measuring cup.
- Cut the garlic bread loaf into thick rounds about 2 inches wide.
- Combine softened cream cheese and minced garlic in a medium mixing bowl.
- Stir until smooth and fragrant.
- Fold the chopped shrimp gently into the cream cheese mixture.
- Add the drained crab meat and fold gently to keep the seafood tender.
- Stir in shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan until evenly combined.
- Add lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Stir until the filling becomes cohesive and flavorful.
- Hollow out the center of each garlic bread round to create a pocket about 1 inch deep.
- Spoon about 2 tablespoons of seafood filling into each bread round.
- Top each stuffed bread bomb with extra mozzarella and a light sprinkle of Parmesan.
- Arrange the bombs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and the bread is lightly golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for about 2 minutes.
- Transfer to a serving platter.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired.
- Serve immediately while warm and creamy.
Notes
Pat the shrimp and crab meat very dry before mixing to prevent a watery filling. Use room temperature cream cheese for smooth blending. Do not overstuff the bread rounds, and serve the bombs warm while the cheese is melted and bubbly.
