Ingredients
- 1 to 2 tablespoons high-quality whole coffee beans, about 15 to 20 grams
- 8 to 10 ounces filtered water
Instructions
- Select whole coffee beans roasted within the past 4 weeks.
- Grind the beans immediately before brewing.
- Use a medium-fine grind consistency similar to sea salt.
- Heat filtered water to 195 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Add the ground coffee to your brewing device.
- Use a coffee-to-water ratio of 1:15 to 1:18.
- Pour just enough hot water over the grounds to wet them.
- Let the coffee bloom for 30 to 45 seconds.
- Pour in the remaining hot water.
- Brew for 4 to 5 minutes if using a French press.
- Brew for 3 to 4 minutes if using a pour-over.
- Brew for 2 to 3 minutes if using an espresso machine.
- Pour the finished black coffee into a cup immediately after brewing.
- Drink within 15 minutes while hot for the best flavor and effect.
- Consume in the morning on an empty stomach for appetite support.
- Drink 30 to 60 minutes before exercise if using as a pre-workout beverage.
- Avoid drinking after 2 PM to prevent sleep disruption.
