Instructions

  1. Pour eight ounces of room temperature or slightly warm filtered water into a clean glass.
  2. Add one-quarter teaspoon of pure baking soda to the water.
  3. Stir vigorously for thirty seconds until the baking soda fully dissolves.
  4. Cut one-half of a fresh medium lemon in half again.
  5. Squeeze both lemon quarters into the glass.
  6. Stir the mixture thoroughly for ten seconds.
  7. Watch for the subtle fizzing action as the baking soda reacts with the lemon juice.
  8. Fill the remaining glass space with four to six ice cubes.
  9. Stir once more for five seconds.

Notes
